How do you survive an ice age or a super volcano eruption?

An ice age, lots of blankets food and fire? is there a certain area safer than others?
A super volcano eruption, now i’ve read alot about yellowstone and am kinda thankful to be living in the uk, still if this thing erupts even europe will suffer, so gasmask, food and shelter? how do you protect yourself from the ash clouds???
